Paul Jones

Did anyone else make it last night ?

For what its worth heres what I saw.

The gig wasn't sold out, obviously people knew it was 3 quid for a bottle of beer.

Chamberlain flew in to open the show. They are growing on me. The first time I saw them I wasn't overly impressed. A very safe Mid America type rock band, but very tight. Worth checking out. Miles watched their set, bouncing up and down and singing along.

Next up a new band to me, Fireside. They walked on and said "Hello, we are from Sweden" and I thought "OK time to go to the bathroom" (sorry to any Swedes out there, I just thought of Roxette.) Then they started playing. A must see for any Quicksand/Stanford fans out there. Rock. I think I can safely say the best Swedish band I've seen.

Time for 414. Some of you may remember I was less than complimentary after their Dingwalls show a couple of months ago. Tonight was like seeing a different band. They rocked out. I take it all back, Miles is still a God. They just seemed much more together, not so stoppy-starty, not 3 guys playing away, 3 guys playing together. Better live than on the album. I'm looking forward to the next time.
