Hi All,
Well Reading was a blast. It only rained when we were under cover and Vent 414 were ace. Good material and a lot of false endings to trap the audience into clapping too early :)
Miles was his usual charming self and even had a dig at his sponsors at NME :-) I bumped into Des who used to be a list member so can't remember the exact wording of the Miles quote but it went along the lines of:
"Girls Against Boys, Vent 414 *AND * Tortoise? a rare display of taste from the NME!"
(someone please correct me if that's not quite right, but it's the thought that counted)
The tent was pretty well full and most people I spoke to were curious to see how the band would sound and were impressed. Fixer went down very well and there was a full page ad in the programme for the single. The author of the little piece on the band did a good job and reckons 'fixer' will reach top 20 (here's hoping!)
